On our last day in Scandinavia, it looked like our good travel luck with weather gave out. We awoke to rain, but had planned to visit the Munch Museum first. After the Munch (great museum), we took the metro to near the harbor, where we planned to take our fjord cruise. The rain stopped and shortly after launch, the sun came out.

Very short but steep hike. There are several other hikes in the area. We also hiked down to and walked around Lake Sognsvann. There are several ski and walking trails in the area.

The weather was perfect for a hike – overcast and in the high 50s. Once we made it to the top, we took in the vast views of Oslo Vettakollen is on the same metro line and probably more challenging than its neighbour Holmenkollen, although you do get some of the best views of Oslo as well as Holmenkollen from this area. This Norwegian wilderness should be for experienced mountain bikers, but there are also great medium-level hiking opportunities for others who want to visit.
